| When
your goal is to lose extra weight, remember to drink lots of plain,
fresh water. Keeping your body well-hydrated makes a big difference
when you want to lose weight and stay healthy. Drinking water
helps your body flush away the normal buildup of toxins and fats.
When you are giving your body plenty of water, those tiny lines
that appear around your mouth and eyes will even start to soften.
Water plumps out dry or saggy skin, fills in the tiny lines, and
promotes a smooth, healthy glow. Start drinking more water today.
You may begin to notice a slight decrease in your appetite right
away. Your water habit will help stave off that feeling of hunger.
The average recommendation
is around eight glasses a day. You know that you're drinking
enough water when you're not thirsty, and you find yourself
having to make frequent trips to the bathroom. Another way to
tell that you're hydrated sufficiently is by your lips. If the
inside of your mouth is dry and your lips feel chapped, you
need to drink more water.
There's no substitute
for plain water. Coffee is a diuretic, and colas and other sources
of caffeine actually rob your body of fluid. When you're dieting,
coffee may seem like your friend because you don't feel hungry
after you consume a cup or two. Switching to water is a much
better approach. The water makes you feel full, but instead
of robbing your body of fluids you are replacing them. Water
cleanses your system, flushes out the old cells and replenishes
the new ones.
Bear in mind that
you should never try to drink all eight glasses of water at
once. You're not trying to drown yourself! A good plan is to
aim for three times during the day when you can drink two full
glasses, then sip the rest all day long. Try drinking one or
two in the morning, two around mid-day, and one or two more
approximately three hours before bedtime. Your leaner, healthier
body will be your reward. |
